Not sure what you're saying here.

All I'm pointing out is that using food as fuel links the price of food to the price of fuel. I'm not actually making a statement about the way things are today.

I was talking about the soaring price of wheat lately caused by biofuels and massive speculation in commodities.

Yeah, I don't buy wheat. I do buy that there's a commodity bubble though.

But, given the way food is produced in the US, the price of food has already been linked to the price of fuel.

The trouble with biofuels is that they are a very inefficient means of transforming petroleum into ethanol. It's not clear that this is a worse deal than transforming it into high-fructose corn syrup, which is what we've been doing before the advent of biofuels.
