Global Temperature trends
Today, [info]schmengie and I made a wager of $100 that the temperatures of the next five years will be warmer than those of the last five years. Some details need to be worked out, like what the years are, and which temperatures are used. I propose the following definitions:

last five years: 2003-2007
next five years: 2008-2012
temperature source: http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata/GLB.Ts.txt

Book it, [info]schmengie?

Anyone else care to book it? I have the "warming" side, of course. :)

If [info]schmengie wants more action, I'm in. I'm first, too!

Ok, I give in. It's a parlay now.

Wager to be resolved after BARGE NL 2013. If either of us wins both $200 to the winner, otherwise it's a push.

5 years...52 weeks a year....if I put around 80 cents a week away starting now I should be good....
I put it on my calendar for 1/1/2013 since my memory when i am 57 will suck

Bad idea. Those measurements don't take into account increased stations and readings.

schmengie should not use GISS as the temperature source (periodic adjustments to the GISS dataset have a habit of lowering past temperatures and raising recent ones...James Hansen). I would use the average of the RSS and UAH satellite measurements.

schmengie should get 3:2 odds at least.

Can you provide (time stable) links?
